Water Sports

A long summer weekend in San Diego is meaningless without exposure to the Pacific Ocean. We grabbed my family, sandwiches and a cooler of beer and spent the day in a less crowded part of the beach, which was ideal for the photo shoot session I forced my mom into! Isn’t she gorg?!

Today is

One of those days. I want to nap. Preferably over a sheepskin under a teepee on the sand. I promise I’m not pregnant.

Luckily, this is my last work day this week. Tomorrow we’re headed to LA for a friend’s wedding (I know. We go to weddings almost as often as we eat pizza). And after that we’re going to bask in the glow of the long holiday weekend. We might even get around to finishing the bubble chandelier we started. Or we might get distracted by drinking and napping and watching romantic comedies.

So I’m taking tomorrow off from my day job and from the Internet and I’m giddy as hell about it. Have a glorious weekend and don’t be jelly. My life is rarely this carefree.

Spring Break: Things That Sparkle

Hi there lovely readers. This is Alex from Things that Sparkle.  Thanks so much Sabra for inviting me over today!! I am so insanely jealous of her vacation right now, so in an effort to pretend I am going somewhere as amazing, I made a little dream packing list….

My favorite sunglasses

For me, the number one travel accessory is my iPad. It has completely changed travel, you have everything you need at your finger tips!

A straw hat, to keep the sun out. I rarely want to keep the sun out, but I’m sure there would be an occasion where this would come in handy.

A Missoni bathing suit has been on my lust list for a while. There’s something about their patterns that lend themselves perfectly to swimwear.

A cotton sarong to throw on so you aren’t nakey (aka in a bikini) during lunch (via)

Brain Waves

This is what the right side of my brain currently looks like.

The left side is on a diet.

I’ve already started to mentally pack for my upcoming trip to Fiji. I’m thinking all I need is a couple of swimsuits, sandals, shifts and totes to take me from day to night. I’m drawn to busy patterns and primary colors at the moment.

Spring Holiday

It’s official. We’re going on vacation next month. Our number one choice was Brazil, but a week is not nearly enough time to see South America and a week is all we have. So instead we’re taking a direct flight to Fiji where we plan to be lazy and get tan. I’m thinking now is the time to update my summer wardrobe!
