Paris je t’aime

I’m back and fuzzy in the brain! Our trip was magical. Being in Paris with your best friends when you’re not starving college students really is an incredible experience. Now I don’t want to take a vacation without my friends in tow. The Husband is thrilled about that.

I took an obscene amount of photos that I haven’t sifted through yet, so for now here are some iPhone shots of our days in Paris!

That’s goodbye in French and Spanish because I’m going to France and Spain remember? Follow me on Instagram if you want to watch me drink a lot of wine.

España

So in addition to our trip to France for the wedding in November, we’ve decided to also head to Spain since we’ll already be in that area. When in Europe right? We’re in the process of making plans and I need your advice loyal readers. Barcelona is most definitely on the list. I really want to go to San Sebastian, but the more I think about it, the more all the travel back and forth between countries and cities seems frantic. What do you think? Should we stay in Barcelona the entire week or is it worth visiting another city?

If we do visit another city, our requirements are as follows: It has to be close to Barcelona as we don’t have time to gallivant all over Spain. And there must be direct transportation back to Paris, which is where we eventually depart.

Tell me what to do.

Gowns

I’m currently consumed by gowns. I need something appropriate for a Matron of Honor at a chateau wedding in France. Did I tell you that matchy, typical bridesmaids dresses are not required at this wedding. Instead, we’re looking at fancy sh*t in gorgeous fabrics and prints. It’s going to be one of those “totally mismatched but comes together perfectly” kind of bridal parties! This is the motivation behind my working out a million times a week. That, and wine. I like to drink.

Valentino, Elie Saab, Marchesa

Wedding Dresses Galore

Did I tell you my gorgeous BFF got engaged? Did I tell you I’m the Matron of Honor although I’ve implemented a strict “don’t call me a matron” rule? Did I tell you she’s getting married in a chateau in the Champagne region of France? Oh okay.  So my BFF is getting married in France you guys, and I’m the young, bright-eyed, married friend that she’ll get to boss around for the next six months. And we’re going to Europe over Thanksgiving. And I’m going to drink lots and lots and lots of real champagne!

We recently went dress shopping. I was chillin’ amongst Reem Acras, Jenny Packhams, Oscar de la Rentas and of course, Monique Lhuilliers. With her permission, I’m revealing the ones that didn’t make the cut. You will be blown away by the final dress(es)!

Spring Break: Twirly Skirts

Hi I’m Molliee from Twirly Skirts. Since my boyfriend and I started dating in 2007, I have been lucky enough to travel back to France each summer to visit his family. Each trip over there is inspiring for many reasons, but fashion is definitely one of them. The French have an innate sense of style that you can’t help but envy. I have never been there in the winter, but in the summer there is a plethora of flowery summer dresses, sheer linen shirts, stylish flats and other airy pieces. One thing I have learned from my trips there is to value the quality of basics. People are willing to spend money on quality simple pieces that will last season after season because they can be styled in several different ways as the fads come and fade. Some of my favorite brands that are popular in France are Zadig & Voltaire, LOFT and Vanessa Bruno. I always come back with a few cherished finds. This summer I hope to take plenty of photos of other women to showcase their style on in a future blog post, but here are a few of my photos from past summers. Bonnes Vacances!
