Paris je t’aime

I’m back and fuzzy in the brain! Our trip was magical. Being in Paris with your best friends when you’re not starving college students really is an incredible experience. Now I don’t want to take a vacation without my friends in tow. The Husband is thrilled about that.

I took an obscene amount of photos that I haven’t sifted through yet, so for now here are some iPhone shots of our days in Paris!

That’s goodbye in French and Spanish because I’m going to France and Spain remember? Follow me on Instagram if you want to watch me drink a lot of wine.

Preparation

I’m leaving for Europe in two weeks (I realize how ridiculously pretentious that sounds) and so me not blogging on the reg is to prepare you for my absence (even more pretentious I know). But I am so incredibly busy planning my outfits and buying mini shampoo and conditioner that blogging has fallen by the wayside.

Just kidding you guys. My days are spent fulfilling my corporate duties and now that The Husband is home every night, we cook dinner together and actually have in depth conversations about stuff. I’ve also been hard at work on my secret project and catching up on Homeland. Oh and this is the first weekend I’ll be at home in weeks so I look forward to planning my outfits for Europe 😉

Happy Friday!

España

So in addition to our trip to France for the wedding in November, we’ve decided to also head to Spain since we’ll already be in that area. When in Europe right? We’re in the process of making plans and I need your advice loyal readers. Barcelona is most definitely on the list. I really want to go to San Sebastian, but the more I think about it, the more all the travel back and forth between countries and cities seems frantic. What do you think? Should we stay in Barcelona the entire week or is it worth visiting another city?

If we do visit another city, our requirements are as follows: It has to be close to Barcelona as we don’t have time to gallivant all over Spain. And there must be direct transportation back to Paris, which is where we eventually depart.

Tell me what to do.

I’m Back

I went to Toronto without my camera. Shame on me. But I did Instagram some shit, namely photos of the CN Tower, Niagara Falls, and our clubbing escapades. Did you know that the legal drinking age in Canada is 19? I think my clubbing days in Canada are over you guys.

I also spent quality time with my family and developed a case of severe baby fever, which I need to get rid of immediately as I’m traveling to the champagne region of France in a few months and plan on drinking excessively. Also, I missed the Husband a ridiculous amount (he didn’t come with me) and I determined that spending a few days apart is good for romance.

I’m going to spend the remainder of the week not eating and doing some form of extreme exercise. Happy Hump Day!

Palm Springs Was Good to Me

Twas an exceptionally good time in the desert. We ate a lot, drank a hell of a lot and even had a plank-off where I achieved my longest time in plank position (2 minutes and 40 seconds to be exact).  Apparently, I’m more athletic with some booze in my system!

Back to real life now.

Going to the Desert

A salt water pool and lavender mojitos are awaiting our arrival in Palm Springs. Tomorrow I’ll announce the winner of the Made by Maru giveaway. Wednesday, I will be drinking in the sun. That means I’ll see you guys on Thursday. Don’t hate!

Wedding Dresses Galore

Did I tell you my gorgeous BFF got engaged? Did I tell you I’m the Matron of Honor although I’ve implemented a strict “don’t call me a matron” rule? Did I tell you she’s getting married in a chateau in the Champagne region of France? Oh okay.  So my BFF is getting married in France you guys, and I’m the young, bright-eyed, married friend that she’ll get to boss around for the next six months. And we’re going to Europe over Thanksgiving. And I’m going to drink lots and lots and lots of real champagne!

We recently went dress shopping. I was chillin’ amongst Reem Acras, Jenny Packhams, Oscar de la Rentas and of course, Monique Lhuilliers. With her permission, I’m revealing the ones that didn’t make the cut. You will be blown away by the final dress(es)!

I Went to New Orleans

I’m back from Mardi Gras in New Orleans grope-free and no longer a port-a-potty virgin. It had to happen, you guys, and I just went with the flow. Mardi Gras is pretty crazy and I still can’t get over how into parades people are. But it definitely is a sight to see and I can check it off my bucket list.

I have to say the residents of Louisiana epitomize southern hospitality. The friends we stayed with went out of their way to make us feel welcome and we’re so thankful to them for providing me and The Husband with shelter, food and entertainment for five days.

Highlights of our trip included a daytime stroll in the French Quarter (we decided on purpose not to do Bourbon Street in the dark), the best Hurricane at the oldest bar in the city, and catching beads from random strangers on balconies.

We were chastised for all our sinning so we went to church to repent.

One day we sought shelter at a nearby plantation during a torrential downpour.

There was a lot of parade watching going on. I almost brought a mini horse home with me.

And thank God for use of a private port-a-potty provided by some sweet friends.

I also tried extremely hard to catch beads from Will Ferrell at the Bacchus Parade. Nothing.

I didn’t get to meet Elizabeth as it is nearly impossible to get around during Mardi Gras 😦 But she promises to come to San Diego!

And that’s my trip in 200 words or less, which I know is about how long I have your attention for. Thanks to all of you who left me tips about Mardi Gras. Especially the one about the shenis.
