Loup

Not only do I have talented friends, but I have talented friends of friends and even though I haven’t technically met these friends of friends, it still makes us friends by association right? So that was my lengthy introduction to Danielle Ribner, the incredibly talented designer behind Loup, a clothing line that is beyond chic, but actually comfortable and doesn’t require dry cleaning. That’s pretty much all I want in life. Danielle is offering my readers 10% off all the goodies at Loup. Enter the code LONELY10 at checkout. Or use the code MADSALE for 40% off all sale items. You guys, that’s practically free clothes. Excuse me while I go restock my wardrobe.

Lush

I think I’m ready to wear dark lipstick again without being reminded of my poor makeup choices in 1998. I’ll let you know how it works out. TGIF!

Busy Bee

Excuse my absence as of late. I’ve been incredibly busy forcing my dogs to pose for photos, taking pictures of flowers with my iPhone, and eating pumpkin bread. I promise to be better.

Another Party

My weekend was very idyllic. Thanks for asking.

In other news, we’re in the throws of planning a bridal shower for my BFF. It’s going to be classy. And very French. And it will involve rich shades of purple and gold flatware and even calligraphy. Because that’s how we do.

Happy “worst day of the week”!

España

So in addition to our trip to France for the wedding in November, we’ve decided to also head to Spain since we’ll already be in that area. When in Europe right? We’re in the process of making plans and I need your advice loyal readers. Barcelona is most definitely on the list. I really want to go to San Sebastian, but the more I think about it, the more all the travel back and forth between countries and cities seems frantic. What do you think? Should we stay in Barcelona the entire week or is it worth visiting another city?

If we do visit another city, our requirements are as follows: It has to be close to Barcelona as we don’t have time to gallivant all over Spain. And there must be direct transportation back to Paris, which is where we eventually depart.

Tell me what to do.

We Partied

Well I’ve determined that I don’t ever want to be a party planner. That shiz is hard so if that’s your line of work, I commend you. Our small party seemed huge in our teeny house, but we made it work and based on the empty bottles and our neighbors’ complaints, I think our guests had fun.We set up a full bar inside, beer tasting and cigar bar outside and passed around no frill hors d’oeuvres. We also had ice cream cake and chocolate peanut butter bars that everyone raved about.

I wish I could give you a visual, but I realized that when you host a party, it’s rude to expect your guests to wait around while you set up a tripod and take pictures. I didn’t even Instagram you guys! So just imagine it looked like this:

Theming It

Tomorrow night I’m hosting a beer tasting, scotch drinking, cigar smoking party for The Husband’s birthday/graduation complete with bar snacks and brownies. It will mark my official foray into themed parties. Before you know it, I’ll have more mason jars and chalkboard paper than I know what to do with.

Happy weekend!

Paying Homage

This editorial inspired by Sophia Loren is my cup of tea. I am so clearly inspired by a specific type: Big hair and even bigger eyelashes.
