Paris je t’aime

I’m back and fuzzy in the brain! Our trip was magical. Being in Paris with your best friends when you’re not starving college students really is an incredible experience. Now I don’t want to take a vacation without my friends in tow. The Husband is thrilled about that.

I took an obscene amount of photos that I haven’t sifted through yet, so for now here are some iPhone shots of our days in Paris!

Preparation

I’m leaving for Europe in two weeks (I realize how ridiculously pretentious that sounds) and so me not blogging on the reg is to prepare you for my absence (even more pretentious I know). But I am so incredibly busy planning my outfits and buying mini shampoo and conditioner that blogging has fallen by the wayside.

Just kidding you guys. My days are spent fulfilling my corporate duties and now that The Husband is home every night, we cook dinner together and actually have in depth conversations about stuff. I’ve also been hard at work on my secret project and catching up on Homeland. Oh and this is the first weekend I’ll be at home in weeks so I look forward to planning my outfits for Europe

Best Bridal Shower Ever

We threw the most beautiful bridal shower for the most beautiful bride-to-be this weekend. I realized a party is no party without balloons and a mini Pomeranian. I Instagramed to high heaven but I also managed to take a million photos with my real camera so you’ll have to excuse me as I relive the shower detail by detail this week. If this party was any indication of what we can expect at the wedding next month, then I consider myself the luckiest bitch alive for being able to attend.

This article really speaks to me. It outlines 25 signs indicating you need a vacation from social media. I am guilty of the following:

You enter a new place or social situation and you immediately judge whether it’s Instagram-worthy.

You speak in hashtags. For example, “I totally just fell down the stairs. Hashtag —fail,” or “I ate too many donuts today. Hashtag—first world problems.”

You’re starting to resent the frequency with which you type the phrases, “check out,” “click here,” and “for more details.”

You’re frustrated when you see low engagement on your most important personal status updates.

When you go out to eat, your food is always cold because you’ve just Instagrammed it into oblivion.

You come up with ideas for posts while hanging out with your friends. You immediately start texting yourself future post ideas.

You’ve used “Ermahgerd!” when speaking with your parents.

You know when bloggers are all “I’m working on a very important secret project” and you’re all “Don’t be such a freaking tease and tell me since you divulge all other aspects of your life”? Well, I now have the privilege of being among those bloggers who is working on a very important secret project. The reason I’m keeping it a secret on the Internet is because it’s too early in the stages and what if I get skurred or what if I’m not good enough or what if…

As soon as I have something to show you, I promise I will. And might I add that I feel so lucky to have met some of my talented blogger friends who can help me bring my secret to fruition.
