How long have you been married?
We’ve been married five years this July and together for 10. I’m proud to say the husband is my high school sweetheart. I loved him before he had his driver’s license.
Do you work?
Indeed I do. But I long to forgo my corporate career to decorate and be a stay-at-home dog mom.
Three dogs? Are you crazy?
In 2005, we adopted Lily (also known as the Husband’s Mistress) and soon realized she needed a companion that wasn’t my husband so we adopted another Shih Tzu, Poppy, a couple of years later. Six months ago, I made the mistake of volunteering for an animal adoption organization and fell in love with a Great Dane named Diesel. I immediately changed his name to Dexter (often called The Monster) after the serial killer and brought him home. The husband was not pleased, but he knew what he was getting into when he married me. We loosely refer to our home as a no-kill animal shelter.
What kind of camera do you use to take photos?
I finally got a Canon Rebel, which significantly improved the quality of my photos. My photography skills are still lacking though. All photos on this site are mine unless otherwise noted. Please ask if you want to borrow and give credit where it’s due. Thanks!
Just discovered this blog- I love it! Especially love all the eye candy and layout.
Just found your blog today, I love the font and the caps on the first line of your posts! Looks so glossy magazine style! Is that part of the theme or just something you do on your own?
PS very jealous that you live somewhere warm and sunny….
Thanks for stopping by Bria! Yes, the font is part of the Oulipo by A. Mignolo theme. Going to check out your blog now!
Just found your blog today- love the title and the concept. I’m a lonely wife too- who’s hubby is also being consumed by a masters degree. Glad to find someone who can relate.
Ps- I’m a dog girl- danes are my favorite, and Dexter is SO handsome!
So glad you stopped by! I’m a little biased, but Dexter really is the most handsome dane I’ve ever met!
xo,
Sabra
Hi-
Recently came across your blog, and think it’s cute!
I LOVE your living room & dining room! As you post more pics of your place, can you comment where you got things, colors you used, etc?
But really wanted to ask where you got your couch- L~O~V~E!
Thanks so much! I’ll be updating photos of my home and will definitely include sources. For now, the couch is from Comfort Furniture Gallery in San Diego. It’s the Davenport sectional in pebble putty. We had it customized to fit our living room.
It was so wonderful to get your comment over at Hilary Inspired today, Sabra! Thanks for stopping by.
I’m loving your work here at The Lonely Wife Project. (Cute name) We have something in common it looks like…I married my high school sweetheart, too. (Well, he was just starting college and I was still in high school). We’ve been married 4 years and together for 7…its kind of crazy, but we’re absolutely in love and feel so blessed to have each other! Isn’t it wonderful…most of the time.
Just kidding, of course. Thanks again and come back soon.
Thanks! So good to hear from you. Lucky for us, we have blogs to update as our husband’s pursue their Master’s
